Understand it first

I start by finding the actual problem — from outside, a slow query and a wrong assumption look the same.

Security from the start

Login checks, validation and hardening go in at the start, not bolted on at the end.

Measured, not guessed

If I say something is faster, I measured it. If I haven't, I'll say that instead.

Reliable beats clever

I'd rather ship the simple version that stays up than the clever one that needs babysitting.

How I work

How a project runs

  1. Talk it through

    A call or a few messages: what you're building, what's not working. You get a written estimate before anything is agreed.

  2. Plan the build

    I map the data, endpoints and security before writing code, so you know exactly what's being built.

  3. Build

    I build in small steps and share progress as I go — working software you can click through.

  4. Ship & check

    I deploy without taking the live site down, then check the real numbers — speed, errors, usage.

A focused job — an API, a redesign, a small site — usually takes 2–4 weeks; a complete system, 2–3 months. You get a written estimate with a timeline before anything starts.
